The Scottish Saxophone Academy was founded to host and promote saxophone education and performance events. SSA events include residential weekends, week long courses, saxophone days, school events, masterclasses, and concerts. Mike is a Director of the Scottish Saxophone Academy.

Marram are Jamie Chambers, Mike Brogan, and Colin Mclean. Their debut album, Sun Choir, features contributions from Jarvis Cocker, doseone, Owen Pallett, White Hinterland, and Scottish folk singer Margaret Bennett, alongside specially composed lyrics by Irvine Welsh, Alexander McCall Smith, Valerie Gillies, and Tom Leonard.

The Scottish Saxophone Ensemble have performed in the UK and abroad, including at International Chamber Music Matters in Scotland and the 15th World Saxophone Congress in Bangkok. The ensemble recently performed at "Les Rencontres du saxophone" Festival, Strasbourg, and released their first CD, “Mrs Malcolm” on Largo Music.

The Youth Music Initiative aims to create access to high quality music making opportunities for young people in Scottish schools. Funded by YMI, Mike has written and delivered the Jazzamatazz programme for Aberdeenshire Music Service for several years, and introduced the same programme to West Lothian schools in 2017,

A project six years in the making, Everything is New is a multimedia cross-arts release in three parts. Sun Choir: a critically acclaimed album from Marram. BOATS: a 29 track compilation of exclusive new music from celebrated international artists, including Four Tet, Rustie, No Age, Dan Deacon, Son Lux, Max Tundra, and many more. The Everything is New film is a 70 minute feature starring the children of the Light Of Love Children’s Home.

The World Saxophone Congress XVI was hosted from the 10th to the 15th July 2012 in the historic coastal town of St Andrews, Scotland. As Assistant Director, Mike curated the production of over 250 performances in just five days. He has also attended other WSCs as an invited performer in Thailand, Slovenia, and France.
