Transgressive North is a Scottish artistic collective founded by directors Jamie Chambers and Michael Brogan in 2011, as a means of bringing together the many different collaborations we were working on together under one banner. Recent releases include our award winning films Blackbird and When The Song Dies, the annual Folk Film Gathering, and our critically acclaimed music release, BOATS .
I'm 1/3 of orchestral art-pop trio, Marram. Our debut album, Sun Choir, featured contributions from Jarvis Cocker, doseone, Owen Pallett, and Scottish folk singer Margaret Bennett, alongside lyrics by Irvine Welsh, Alexander McCall Smith, Valerie Gillies, and Tom Leonard. Album #2 is on the way...

SCOTTISH SAXOPHONE ACADEMY
The Scottish Saxophone Academy hosts saxophone education and performance events across Scotland, including residential weekends, courses, play days, school workhops, masterclasses, and concerts. As director of the SSA I lead events throughout the year, including the Saxophones At The Burn residential courses and The Big Blaw!
ABERDEENSHIRE SAXOPHONE ORCHESTRA
The Aberdeenshire Saxophone Orchestra is the only saxophone orchestra in Scotland covering the full instrumental range from bass to sopranino saxophones. The orchestra explores a diverse repertoire of music from classical arrangements to bespoke compositions, with educational opportunities for its members along the way. I was appointed co-Musical Director for the ASO in 2022.
SCOTTISH SAXOPHONE ENSEMBLE
The Scottish Saxophone Ensemble combine jazz, folk and classical music - with a few Gaelic psalms, montunos and whirling reels along the way. We have performed in Bangkok, Strasbourg, around Scotland (Glasgow/Perth Concert Halls, Isles of Coll and Mull, Dundee V&A), and also as part of the Made in Scotland Music Showcase (Edinburgh Festival Fringe).
16TH WORLD SAXOPHONE CONGRESS
The World Saxophone Congress is a festival gathering approximately 1000 saxophonists and other musicians from all over the world. It is held every three years. I was assistant director of the 16th WSC, hosted in the historic coastal town of St Andrews, Scotland.
