Tutors: Mike Brogan and Catherine Evison

THE COURSE

This saxophone course is a relaxed, informal way to explore new music and meet other like-minded players, under the expert guidance of our professional tutors. The focus of our weekend will be on ensemble playing, and you can expect to take part in a range of groups, from quintets, quartets, and trios, to full saxophone choirs.

Our extensive library of music and new arrangements covers a range of styles, including classical, rock, swing, latin, and more. Sessions will run throughout the day and into the evening, with time for workshops, musicianship training, improvising, and a wealth of technique tips, all delivered in a fun, friendly atmosphere.

All music will be provided - you just need to bring your saxophone(s), a music stand, and a pencil!.

THE VENUE

Strathallan School, Forgandenny, Perth, PH2 9EG

It is often said that Strathallan sits in the most beautiful part of Scotland. Just seven miles from the City of Perth, on the lower slopes of the Ochil Hills, Strathallan School is easily accessible, and enjoys a stunning location. It is situated ten minutes from the Edinburgh/Perth motorway (M90) to the east and the dual carriageway to Stirling and the west (A80). These roads provide good links to all parts of Scotland. There are a number of car parks on Strathallan’s Campus for the use of those resident in School accommodation and visitors.
